- broken filter bag detectors
- continuous dust emission monitors
- dry solids level probes
Goyen manufactures triboelectric probes
for sensing particulate in an air steam. These probes are an advanced
form called "tribokinetic".
Two features distinguish Goyen's probes
from its competitors. Their probes do not suffer from 'electronic drift',
which plagues virtually every other probe on the market. Electronic drift
is the term describing a probe's tendency for its signal to wander over
time, eventually causing false alarms. This drift can occur in as little
as 2 - 3 weeks. Maintenance personnel must re-calibrate the probes regularly
in order to prevent this. Many companies have simply disconnected their
probes out of frustration in dealing with this problem.
Goyen's probes are impervious to product
buildup on the probe sensing rod and have been tested with as much as
1/2" layer of concrete on the sensing rod, with NO loss of signal.
Goyen's
probes...
- can easily and accurately detect fine,
sub-micron particulate
- are extremely easy to install and set
up
- are reliable, providing years of trouble-free
and maintenance-free operation
- are LESS expensive than the competitors,
particularly when the application calls for more advanced emissions
monitoring
One very large ore mining company was a
long time user of a competitor's probes. We convinced them to test our
probe and theirs in the same duct to demonstrate the problem of 'electronic
drift'. Within a couple of weeks, the competitor's probe signal drifted,
sending a signal almost twice as strong as originally. As a result,
Goyen is now the preferred supplier of particulate emissions probes to
this company.
GOYEN PROBES
EMP3 and BBD3
| These inexpensive probes
share the same Tribokinetic particulate sensing technology as the
entire Goyen line, and include adjustments for sensitivity and time
delay on the back of the probe head. The BBD3 provides a relay (on/off)
type signal for signaling to an alarm that the emissions have exceeded
a set threshold, indicating a filter bag failure. The EMP3 provides
both a relay signal and a 4 - 20 mA signal which can be sent to a
device for display and data logging. |
 |
As shown in the following specs, our superior
electronics allow these probes to reliably sense up to 10 times smaller
particulate than competing probes.
General Specifications
|
Temperature:
- Standard - up to 80°C (176°F)
- Medium - up to 200°C (390°F)
- High - up to 500C (930°F)
|
Probe:
- Can be manufactured to meet customers
needs. If greater than 1.0 meter (36 inches), probe will require
optional support bracket.

EMP5 / BBD5
 |
These systems include a remote mounted
control panel so that the probe's sensitivity, alarm setpoint and
time delay may be set from a convenient location. Both the EMP5
and BBD5 come with an LED bar graph display showing the present
emissions level and the alarm set point level.
The BBD5 provides a (on/off) relay
for signaling an alarm when emissions have exceeded a set threshold,
indicating a filter bag failure. The EMP5 provides both a relay
signal and a 4 - 20 mA signal which can be sent to a device for
display and data logging.

EMS4
The EMS4 includes a remote mounted control panel so that all adjustments
can be made from a convenient location. Controls include sensitivity,
alarm setpoint, time delay, and type of output (instantaneous or averaged).
|
The EMS4 has 3 output signals:
- An on/off relay signal for signaling
an alarm when emissions have exceeded a set threshold, indicating
a filter bag failure.
- A 4 - 20 mA signal which can be
sent to a device for display and data logging.
- An RS232 signal for output to a
computer.

EMS6
The EMS6 emissions monitoring system includes one or more probe heads,
which are connected to a personal computer and controlled via software.
All adjustments to a probe's sensitivity, alarm setpoint, time delay,
and type of output (instantaneous or averaged) are made via software.
This powerful system allows a single computer control of many probes,
simultaneously graphing each probe's signal and storing the data in a
file that can be imported to common spreadsheet software.
