INTRODUCING A REVOLUTIONARY NEW PRODUCT SAMPLER FROM G.R. Sprenger Engineering, Inc. Process Innovations, Inc. is very pleased to introduce to you our newest principal and a new way to test quality with a very unique product sampler through the innovative design of G.R. Sprenger Engineering, Inc. G.R. Sprenger, founder and CEO of G.R. Sprenger Engineering, Inc. has been working in the process industries for many years in developing a product sampler for bulk powders and slurries. He has several proven applications in the field that continue to provide consistent product sampling for both manufacturers and raw product handlers alike. These samplers are essential in the collection of material in the testing of both industrial and environmental compliance to ensure that quality is met through any phase of the material handling that might require quality control.
HOW IT WORKS Product flows through the sampler which has several conical sections to segregate product throughout the unit. Very small samples flow through the cones and are continuously disperse the powder or slurry while allowing only a small fraction of the product sampling chute. It is this method that allows continual product sampling as opposed to spontaneous sampling where product is tested sporadically during a process cycle. For a drawing of the internals on one of the product samplers from G. R. Sprenger Engineering, Inc. see below:
FEATURES The features of this product sampler are that the samples are collected continuously throughout a process cycle and not spontaneously, giving a greater degree of accuracy when measuring product quality and consistency. Several models are available for both powders and slurries. Each unit’s materials of construction and size are selected based on the nature of the product passing through the sampler, how much sample is to be collected and other factors that are driven by the application itself. Connections from the process piping to the unit are available in a standard form or custom designed to suit the needs of the customer. Because this product sampler contains no moving parts, timers, or electronic controls, maintenance is very minimal and the sampler is built to last. Several units in the field have been in place for well over five years with the same consistent quality as when they were installed lending to their overall reliability as a product sampler.Shown, above, is a view of the internals on one of the many styles of product samplers offered by G.R. Sprenger Engineering, Inc. As you can see, the top conical section diverts material away from the lower cone and allows only a very small percentage of product through for sampling. The lower cone again diverts material away from the product sample chute for a smaller and random sampling of product. If product doesn’t make it into the sample chute, it is able to flow back into the process piping naturally and without any manual intervention. Typically, these units are supplied with a valve to stop flow in the sample chute when removing product sample for testing or quality control.
