The Young Industries'
Trans-Flow Aeration Products Since their beginnings over fifty years ago, The Young Industries has strived to produce equipment to revolutionize the way powders and bulk solids are handled. With the introduction of Trans-Flow, they have succeeded in this endeavor in creating a means to enhance the flow properties of pigments, resins, additives, carbon black, toner and much, much more. Trans-Flow is a specially designed permeable membrane used in silos, hoppers, downspouts, chutes - anywhere that powders or bulk solids would normally rat hole, bridge or funnel flow. Designed with no particular market in mind, this membrane is applicable in virtually any process industry where bulk solids are used. Trans-Flow aeration media is constructed of porous 316 stainless steel with an ultra smooth finished contact surface. This produces an evenly distributed layer of air that separates the bulk material from the media. The best analogy is that this works similar to an air hockey table. This media is able to withstand temperatures of up to 1000 degrees F and resists corrosion and utilizes typically only 3-5 psig of air or gas. The maximum recommended pressure is 15 psig.
